“Among the Ruins: the Story of David” is my Biblical novel based on the book of First Samuel. It details David’s life from the time he was anointed the next king of Israel until he finally attained that goal.
Throughout the story, emphasis is on what David learned as he waited for God to be ready to make him king, such as how to forgive someone, what to do when things go wrong, and how to get back to God’s plan for your life.
The “Reader’s Guide” is divided into ten lessons that coincide with what David learned during his sojourn in the wilderness. There are 10-12 questions for each lesson and space to write how it applies to your own life.
The novel and reader’s guide are perfect for use in Sunday Schools, Bible studies, or reader’s groups. It is an enjoyable way to learn about David’s early years as well as a format to apply what David learned to our own lives.

On February 3, 2023, a Norfolk Southern freight train carrying hazardous materials derailed in East Palestine, Ohio, United States. After burning for over two days, emergency crews conducted a controlled burn of several railcars at the request of state officials, which released hydrogen chloride and phosgene into the air. (from Wikepedia)
Please PRAY for the people of East Palestine, Ohio, a community just 30 miles south of where I live. It is a grass-roots community without a lot of resources. I hope and pray Norfolk Southern steps up and compensates these hard-working people for this disaster for which they are responsible.
